State government has raised the stay on BMCs car parking policy to make vehicle payable on any road or footpath during Mumbai from March, leaving to one side a few designated holiday spots and public places. The move from the state run government to carry the stay on an insurance policy that BMC had released two years ago free of charge parking, came simply a week before the social election in the city.

The charges will be appropriate on any highway or footpath except public facilities like Girgaum and Juhu Chowpatty, any Gateway which are vacationer spots. The rates may differ over the week-ends and on public getaways.

“The process for rendering has already begun, however owing to the survey code of execute, we will be able to submit advertisements calling tenders only after the BMC selection is over,” said any senior civic formal. The poll’s email address details are scheduled to be stated on February 23.

“Our own attempt is to use the policy just as it had been,” the official said. For starters, tenders would be floated with contractors for 78 on-street and 12 off-street airport parking lots. The city have been divided into three categories–A good, B and C–structured largely on footfall, for applying differential parking prices. The highest rates are for the best crowded places. Atul Kumar, a member of the Nariman Point-Churchgate Citizens Association (NPCCA) declared the policy is not the answer for south Mumbai’ersus parking problem. “A lot of buildings in SoBo had been built in the 1950s and did not have parking lots (doing residents to park outside the house housing societies). So, a policy like the present one cannot be used across the city.”

As a the source (TOI) a four-wheeler automobile parking space can be used from 8pm for you to 8am (night-time) for monthly charges from Rs A person,980 to Rs 660 based on a category during the policy’s residential design. From 8am to 8pm fees will vary from Rs 3,960 to 1,330. Only one slot will probably be available per vehicle driver and housing societies will have to get in touch with its local ward office environment to know the particulars.
